Description: I am building and creating a sustainable garden for our future in my mom’s front yard. Planting seeds was one of my class assignment projects and I really enjoyed this activity because I get to breath fresh air while working in the outdoors. Plus; I also learned some survival skills while fortifying my body strong in relation with this work. I was assisted by my neighbor in guidance with cooperation. He showed me how to handle certain tools because they were heavy and if careless, they could also pose as dangerous and so one must be really careful at all times. Okay, so after exploring the area I pick a location to dig some holes. Then; I assisted the ground by adding some rich nutrients to it -before planting the seeds. It was a lot of work and I carried heavy bags of worm poop to cover the area afterwards. At first I though yuck! But then my neighbor explained that worm poop was compost and he talked about all of the healthy properties that it adds onto the soil and then I said: Cool! “Let’s do this!” And so I planted hot pepper seeds- to scare away the squirrels from the Corn -which is my mother’s favorite. And then; a big pineapple for me and my sister to care and watch grow. “I can’t wait to eat of its yummy Fruit!”/”That will be One day not too far away…I hope!” I also hope that this helps other people to see and do the same. If everyone builds their your own sustainable gardens then we will have plenty of food if another virus like Covid-19 comes over and supermarkets are closed. The earth is our friend and we must care for it well. Thank You and I hope you like my entry. I am a 7 year old 2nd grader and my name is: Thomas Jake Ripple-Gutierrez
