Description: Constellation Embroidery One of the weekly themes of the online learning program was the solar system, after which we did some serious star gazing over the weekend and continued to learn at home about star constellations during the following week. Her zodiac sign is Gemini, so I explained that it meant twins and so the first thing she did was make a drawing of twins. Next, I showed her the embroidery materials and she got started. We tried to let her do as much as possible by herself and she didn’t even prick herself with the pointy needle and used it carefully. She helped fit the fabric onto the embroidery hoop, then she drew Gemini with chalk onto the fabric and started stitching. She didn’t follow the lines, but that’s ok. The purpose was to introduce her to a new technique and she skillfully embroidered her first piece!
