Description:  (Transcribed by Gunther’s mom, Billie)

I helped clean up our earth. It was on the earth’s birthday (Earth Day) and Miss Kristi gave me a garbage bag and gloves so that my hands wouldn’t get dirty. I brought my baby, Bruno, but he didn’t help because he’s too small and he would probably eat the garbage if he picked it up.

To clean up, we did a super long walk by our house. We went up and down the big hills and looked for any litter. Sometimes I had to pull it really hard because it was stuck. We found so much litter that we filled our garbage bag and put some extra in our wagon.

I wanted to pick up garbage so that our earth would stay clean. It’s important to clean up the garbage on our earth because the earth is where we live. It is naughty to litter, but sometimes it’s an accident like when garbage flies out of a garbage truck. None of it was my garbage, but I still wanted to clean it up. I wanted to share this because it made me feel happy and because I was being a good example to other kids and grown ups, too.
