Description: We learned about and re-created the life cycle of a butterfly. To make the caterpillar, we used a clothespin, green pom poms, glue and wiggle eyes. Next we painted a toilet paper roll with acrylics to make the chrysalis. Then we used dot markers to decorate coffee filters that we took outside and sprayed with a water bottle to make the wings. (Unknown to the littles, their beautiful creations flew far away so Mommy quickly made some more. Whoops!) Using tissue paper, we closed the caterpillar inside the chrysalis and hung them on a branch. Many days later, they came out of their chrysalis as butterflies! It was amazing! We wanted to share our art to show everyone that learning can be beautiful!
