Description: I am a teacher at Creating Child Davie and when my preschool class wanted to have a bake sale to buy a pet tortoise, my daughter Brooklyn was quickly onboard to help bake. We baked vanilla cupcakes with American buttercream icing.

Cake:

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
• ½ cup canola oil
• 1 1/2 cup sugar
• 4 eggs room temperature preferred
• 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
