Description: We have birds that sometimes fly into a large window so we research methods and decided to paint the window as a family to help the birds. We learned birds see trees reflection and get confused. But you can paint the window with washable paint to help them. The children learned how far apart the paint can be for the birds and how two windows were safe for the birds already because of the screens. Both Eve & Lincoln helped design the mural layout. Mom taped designs using a ‘stained glass’ method the children both could pick sections to paint as they desired. The project in all took two full weeks. When it dried we removed the tape to give the windows a stained glass look. The children wanted a spring theme with pugs since they have grown up with our two pugs. The empty spaces they filled in free hand with paintings of ‘dog toys’.
