Description: This is my rendition of The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. To the right, you see the painting by van Gogh for comparison with a picture of me creating my masterpiece below it. I was inspired by this painting because of the many starry nights I have seen in such my short life. You see, even when I was in my mommy’s belly, I didn’t like to sleep at night, tossing and turning while captivated by the bright stars in the night sky. If I was lucky, I would even get to see a shooting star and was told to make a wish. While I think my parents’ wish initially came true and involved me sleeping more at night, my wish came true when I turned three months old and started attending daycare at Creative Child Learning Center in Davie, FL. I soon made many friends and was placed in the infant room with a special group of teachers who understood you are never too young for artwork. I included a couple pictures from my earlier work so you can see how much my teachers taught me and helped me grow in my skills. Ms. Mayra, Marilu, and Ana Maria come to work every day with a smile on their face, are patient with me when I’m having a tough time, and always encourage me to try my best; the three ingredients that shaped me into the fun, silly, smart, strong, and cute little man I am today. Thank you to my teachers and Creative Child Learning Center for your dedication to my development even during this difficult time. May you all think of me the next time you look up into the night sky and all your wishes come true when you see that shooting star.
